Heuchera 'Northern Exposure Lime'
Choose Northern Exposure Lime Coral Bells for round, chartreuse-lime foliage that stays lime all year — not just in spring — on a dense mound topped with soft orange-red flower spikes; the tradeoff is that light foliage scorches in hot afternoon sun, so this one wants morning sun or part shade rather than a full-sun bed.

PGNE Report Card
Category
Grade
Why
Landscape Impact
A
Lime is the single most useful foliage color for a dark bed, and unlike most chartreuse heucheras this one holds the color all season.
Growth Rate
A-
Fast for a heuchera, forming a dense multi-crown mound quickly.
Maintenance
A-
Trim tattered foliage in early spring; water through hot spells and otherwise leave it alone.
Deer Resistance
B+
Deer tend to leave this alone, though hungry deer may sample it where pressure is heavy.
Disease Resistance
A
Bred from Heuchera richardsonii specifically for rust resistance — the disease that ruins most coral bells.
Winter Hardiness
A
This series was bred for northern cold. It is the heuchera group we trust most in New Hampshire.
Our Experience
At PGNE, Lime is the one we reach for when a shade bed reads as a wall of green and needs a break. A lot of chartreuse heucheras fade to a tired yellow-green by August; this one holds. Give it morning sun and afternoon shade — the pale foliage colors are the ones that burn — and it will hold its shape and color for years without dividing.

Customers Usually Ask
Does it stay lime or fade?
It holds lime green through the season, which is the main thing that separates it from older chartreuse heucheras.
How much sun can it take?
Morning sun is good; hot afternoon sun scorches the pale foliage. Lighter heucheras always want more shade than the dark ones.
Will it get rust like my last coral bells?
Much less likely. Rust resistance is the main reason this series exists.

Showed up on time and planted it perfectly. I indicated a light we had to illuminate it and they placed it for optimal lighting. Worked fast and left a clean worksite. First rate!

They delivered three trees: a big linden, a big poplar and a little spice bush with install on the big trees. The install guys were great and professional and fast. All the trees looked good with minimal damage.

I went up there today from Quincy MA to pick up two Blue Wichita Junipers and they were absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Chris and everybody from Pro Growers of New England!

The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!
