About Pro Growers of New England

Learn how the pros grow.

Our Story

Pro Growers started almost by accident. It began as a project by our founder, Chris, to supply plant material for his commercial install company — a reliable way to keep quality trees and shrubs flowing to job sites. Somewhere along the way, the plants won. Chris found he liked growing them more than installing them, and Pro Growers became the main event.

Today we're a working nursery in Newton, New Hampshire, specializing in trees, evergreens, and shrubs — and best known for privacy trees. If you're screening a property line with arborvitae, Green Giants, or upright evergreens, that's what we do all day.

Grower-Direct

We grow at least a portion of roughly 90% of our line ourselves, and source the overflow from trusted growers we know by name. That mix keeps our selection wide and our quality high, without ever passing off a plant we wouldn't put in our own yard. Every plant is cared for and watered daily to exactly what it needs, so it arrives healthy and ready to go in the ground.

We started as a wholesale nursery. But our retail customers kept asking for the same grower-direct service the trade got — real plants, real prices, real advice — so we pivoted. Wholesale is a small part of what we do now; most of our days are spent helping homeowners and landscapers get the right plant the first time.

Here's the idea behind all of it: get a quality plant in front of you with as little waste in between as possible. Every extra stop in the supply chain means more handling, more markup, and more diesel burned hauling a tree that could have come straight from the grower. We'd rather cut those miles out — it's better for the plant, better for your budget, and better for the ground it's going into.

That's how the pros grow.
