Kalmia latifolia 'Minuet'
Choose Minuet Mountain Laurel if you want the classic laurel bloom on a plant that stays genuinely small — about a third the size of a standard Kalmia. The tradeoff is the same as every mountain laurel: it demands acidic, sharply drained soil with steady moisture, and it builds slowly.

At PGNE, we'd typically recommend Minuet where someone loves mountain laurel but does not have room for one. Prepare the bed properly with acidic organic matter and mulch it; if the soil is wrong, fix the site first or choose a more forgiving shrub.

Minuet stays around three feet instead of six to eight, and the flowers carry a wide maroon band inside a pale pink cup.
