The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | A- | It gives a strong upright shade-tree shape and attractive bark without looking too heavy. |
| Growth Rate | B+ | It establishes into a dependable shade tree at a useful pace when planted with enough space. |
| Maintenance | B+ | It is generally straightforward once established, though young trees still benefit from structural pruning. |
| Deer Resistance | C | Young trees like this can be browsed or rubbed by deer, so protect it while it establishes where pressure is heavy. |
| Small Space Fit | D | This is a large shade tree and becomes the wrong plant quickly in tight residential spaces. |
| Screening Value | C | It provides overhead shade, but it is not a dense privacy screen. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend Green Vase Zelkova for open lawn or street-side sites where the customer wants shade structure, not a small ornamental tree.
