The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | B | It gives a clean evergreen base, but it works more as background structure than as a focal plant. |
| Growth Rate | B | It fills in steadily without becoming a plant that needs constant correction. |
| Maintenance | A- | Once established, it asks for little beyond occasional shaping and attention to drainage. |
| Deer Resistance | C- | Deer readily browse this, so protect it or choose a more deer-resistant plant where pressure is heavy. |
| Small Space Fit | C | Its spreading habit can crowd narrow beds unless you are willing to prune. |
| Screening Value | D | It covers ground well but does not provide meaningful privacy or vertical screening. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend this yew for broad evergreen coverage where the bed can stay simple. Give it air, avoid soggy soil, and protect it where deer feed heavily.
