The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Tiarella cordifolia
Choose Creeping Foamflower for a shaded bed where you want a spreading native-style groundcover with spring bloom; the tradeoff is that it needs consistent moisture and is not our pick for heavy deer pressure.

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | B | It makes its best impression in groups, with spring flowers and foliage that helps quiet down shaded beds. |
| Growth Rate | A- | It spreads faster than many shade perennials when the soil stays reasonably moist. |
| Maintenance | B | It asks for little trimming, but it may need watering support in dry shade. |
| Deer Resistance | B+ | Deer tend to leave this alone, though hungry deer may sample it where pressure is heavy. |
| Small Space Fit | B+ | It stays low and works well in small shaded pockets, but its spreading habit needs a boundary. |
| Screening Value | F | It is a groundcover, not a plant for privacy or visual blocking. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend Creeping Foamflower for shaded beds with decent soil moisture, especially where the customer wants coverage rather than a single specimen perennial.

Customers Usually Ask
Will it spread?
Yes, it spreads by runners and works best where that is welcome.
Does it handle dry shade?
Only to a point; dry shade will slow it down and stress it.
Should I plant one or several?
Plant several if you want the groundcover effect in a reasonable time.
