The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns'
Choose Bruns Weeping Serbian Spruce if you want a narrow upright specimen with a softer, weeping outline. The tradeoff: it is not a privacy screen and needs space to be viewed as a single focal tree.

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | A | Strong vertical form and weeping branches make it a clear focal point without taking over the whole bed. |
| Growth Rate | B | It grows steadily enough to matter, but it will not give instant size. |
| Maintenance | B | Little pruning is needed beyond removing awkward or damaged growth, though the leader should stay intact. |
| Deer Resistance | A- | Deer rarely bother this tree; it is a dependable choice where deer are a concern, though young trunks can still be rubbed. |
| Small Space Fit | B+ | Its narrow habit fits tighter areas better than broad spruces, provided overhead room is planned. |
| Screening Value | C | The open weeping shape works as an accent, not a solid privacy wall. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend this as a single specimen, not a row plant. Give it a clean backdrop, keep competing shrubs away, and let the weeping branch structure do the work.

Customers Usually Ask
Will it stay narrow?
Yes, but do not crowd it; the weeping branches still need room to hang naturally.
Can I plant it near the house?
Yes, if you leave clearance from walls, walks, and rooflines; do not squeeze it into a corner.
Is it good for privacy?
No; use Serbian Spruce or Columnar Norway Spruce (Cupressina) if screening is the main goal.
