The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Rhododendron 'Blaauw's Pink'
Choose Blaauw's Pink Azalea if you want a compact evergreen azalea with soft pink spring bloom for a protected foundation or border; the tradeoff is that it needs acidic, well-drained soil and won't give you screening height.
Buy This If

- You prefer soft pink spring flowers.
- Your soil is acidic and drains well.
Skip This If
- You need a tall screen.
- Your site stays soggy.

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | A- | It delivers strong spring color in a low, tidy shape, but it is quiet after bloom. |
| Growth Rate | B- | It fills in at a steady but not fast pace, so buy enough plants if you want a filled border sooner. |
| Maintenance | B | It needs acidic soil, mulch, and light pruning after bloom, but it is not a constant-trimming shrub. |
| Deer Resistance | C- | Deer may browse azalea foliage and buds, especially in winter or where food is scarce. |
| Small Space Fit | A | Its compact mounding habit works well near walks, entries, and low foundation beds. |
| Screening Value | D | It is too low and broad for privacy screening, though it can edge taller plantings. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend Blaauw's Pink for protected beds with cool roots and good drainage; if the site is dry, exposed, or high-deer, we'd steer you to a tougher shrub.

Customers Usually Ask
Is it evergreen?
Yes, but winter foliage can look duller after cold wind or sun exposure.
When should I prune it?
Prune right after flowering so you do not remove next season's buds.
Can it handle hot afternoon sun?
Only with steady moisture and protection; hot, dry exposure is not the best placement.
