Coreopsis hybrida ‘Baluptred’
Choose UpTick™ Red Coreopsis for a sunny front border or pollinator bed where you want steady red-and-gold bloom without a tall plant. The tradeoff: it needs good drainage and will not solve deer-heavy sites by itself.
Buy This If
You want color for a long stretch.
You have a hot, sunny bed.
You need a compact edging perennial.
Skip This If
Your soil stays wet after rain.
The site gets mostly shade.
Deer browsing is a constant problem.
PGNE Report Card
Category
Grade
Why
Landscape Impact
B+
It gives strong flower color for its size, especially when planted in groups.
Growth Rate
A-
It fills in quickly for a perennial without becoming a large plant.
Maintenance
B
It is not fussy, but trimming spent flowers helps keep the show going.
Deer Resistance
B+
Deer tend to leave this alone, though hungry deer may sample it where pressure is heavy.
Small Space Fit
A
Its compact habit makes it easy to place along walks, edges, and containers.
Screening Value
F
It is far too low and seasonal to provide privacy or screening.
Our Experience
At PGNE, we'd typically recommend this for sunny, well-drained beds where the customer wants repeat color up front, not height or structure. Plant a few together instead of scattering singles.

Bought 8-10 ft and all were barely 8 if you count the container. Trees are thin and lots of brown branches and broken branches due you thrown in box truck no wrapping or anything. Hoping they survive and thicken up quick…

The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Great prices and Unbelievable selection of big and small trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials! Nicest folks to work with. And local delivery is awesome! First time purchasing from this company, , and have already told friends, neighbors and family. The owner Chris is professional, knowledgeable, and yet laid back in a most friendly way. Mags in the office will help with any details. My all time BEST garden purchase EVER!
