The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Forsythia × intermedia ‘Mindor’

PGNE Report Card
| Category | Grade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape Impact | A- | It gives a strong early spring flower display, but the color window is short. |
| Growth Rate | B+ | It fills in at a useful pace without being as unruly as older forsythias. |
| Maintenance | B | It is easy to grow, but best shape and bloom come from pruning right after flowering. |
| Deer Resistance | B+ | Deer tend to leave this alone, though hungry deer may sample it where pressure is heavy. |
| Small Space Fit | B | It is compact for a forsythia, but still needs room to spread naturally. |
| Screening Value | C+ | It can add seasonal cover, but it is deciduous and not the right plant for year-round privacy. |
Our Experience
At PGNE, we’d typically recommend Show Off® where spring color is the goal and there is enough room to let the shrub keep a natural shape instead of shearing it tight.

Customers Usually Ask
When should I prune it?
Prune right after flowering so you do not cut off next spring’s buds.
Will it work along a foundation?
Yes, if you give it room and avoid tight spots near walkways.
Does it need a pollinator?
No, it is grown for flowers, not a fruit crop.
