Choose Pro Growers Fertilizer when you’re planting new trees or shrubs and want faster root establishment. The tradeoff: it is not a fix for poor watering, compacted soil, or planting too deep.
Buy This If
You are planting woody plants.
You want stronger root establishment.
You can still water consistently.
Skip This If
The plant is already established.
The soil stays soggy.
Watering will be unreliable.

Category
Grade
Why
Landscape Impact
B
It supports the planting work you already did, but it does not create visible impact by itself.
Growth Rate
B+
It can help new roots get moving, especially when paired with correct watering and planting.
Maintenance
A-
It is simple to use at planting, but it still needs to be applied correctly.
Deer Resistance
C
It does not make a plant more or less likely to be browsed by deer.
Small Space Fit
A
It works for small plantings because it takes no landscape space.
Screening Value
C+
It can help screening plants establish, but it is not a substitute for choosing the right screen.
Compare It To
Tree Bag
Choose Tree Bag first if you may miss watering; choose Pro Growers Fertilizer if watering is covered and you want root support at planting.
Mulch
Choose Mulch if soil moisture and weed control are the main issues; choose Pro Growers Fertilizer if the plant needs feeding at install.
Drip Irrigation Setup KIT - 100 ft
Choose Drip Irrigation Setup KIT - 100 ft for multiple new plants; choose Pro Growers Fertilizer as the feeding add-on, not the watering plan.
Our Experience
At PGNE, we’d typically recommend this with newly planted trees and shrubs, especially when the homeowner is already committed to watering and proper mulch.

Customers Usually Ask
Can I use it on older plants?
You can, but it is mainly meant for new plantings.
We use your zone to recommend plants that survive your winters, and to estimate when your
order ships — we ship each plant when the weather where you live is right for it.

Bought 8-10 ft and all were barely 8 if you count the container. Trees are thin and lots of brown branches and broken branches due you thrown in box truck no wrapping or anything. Hoping they survive and thicken up quick…
I went up there today from Quincy MA to pick up two Blue Wichita Junipers and they were absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Chris and everybody from Pro Growers of New England!

The plants are beautiful and all 13 were consistent in height and width. And at a fraction of the cost of other garden centers. Having the team that delivered them do the planting was one of the best values I can think of. They did a great job from start to finish and even helped me with my watering system which they didn’t have to do!

Great prices and Unbelievable selection of big and small trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials! Nicest folks to work with. And local delivery is awesome! First time purchasing from this company, , and have already told friends, neighbors and family. The owner Chris is professional, knowledgeable, and yet laid back in a most friendly way. Mags in the office will help with any details. My all time BEST garden purchase EVER!
