Why
Landscape Impact
A-
The mix of large hydrangea flowers and rounded evergreen structure gives a clean, finished look without needing many plant varieties.
Growth Rate
B
It fills in at a moderate pace, so it will look planted right away but still needs time to knit together.
Maintenance
B-
Plan on watering during dry spells, trimming the evergreens, and cleaning up hydrangea stems as needed.
Deer Resistance
C
Hydrangeas can be browsed where deer pressure is steady, even though the evergreen pieces may help keep structure.
Small Space Fit
B+
This works well in a defined bed, but it should not be squeezed against steps, rails, or narrow walkways.
Screening Value
C+
It gives low visual separation and seasonal bulk, but it is not meant to block a view or create privacy.

Customers Usually Ask
Will it look bare in winter?
No, the evergreen pieces keep shape in the bed, though the hydrangeas will be dormant.
Does it need irrigation?
Drip irrigation is a smart add-on, especially for the first season and dry stretches.
Can it go along a walkway?
Yes, if the bed has enough room so the plants do not crowd the path.
Why Hydrangeas Steal the Show?
Hydrangeas deliver oversized blooms, rich seasonal color, and reliable performance in New England landscapes. Whether you prefer classic blue mopheads, bright white panicles, or soft pink rebloomers, hydrangeas create dramatic focal points with surprisingly low maintenance. Perfect for foundation plantings, borders, and statement garden beds.
Massive, Show-Stopping Blooms - Oversized flower heads create instant visual impact and elevate any garden space.
Reliable & Cold Hardy - Many varieties perform well in Zones 4–8, making them ideal for northern landscapes.
Long Seasonal Color - Extended bloom time keeps your yard vibrant from mid-summer through early fall.
I had a great experience with Pro Growers of New England. When I was looking to purchase a couple of trees for my yard, I came across them while searching for places nearby. Buying plants online can be a little intimidating because there are so many variables, but they were only about 10 minutes away, so I decided to stop by.
All of the plants were really well cared for, they had a great irrigation setup to keep everything watered, and the selection was enormous. I ended up placing an order online, and they picked out a couple of beautiful trees for me. I had a last-minute change in the tree I wanted, and when I called they were very accommodating.
The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. They helped me find everything I needed, answered my questions, and made the entire experience easy. I also had one tricky planting location with a big rock and a tough invasive vine, but they made it work and planted everything perfectly.
I wasn’t sure at first if I should have the trees professionally installed, but I’m so glad I did. They did an excellent job, and the whole experience was easy from start to finish. Thanks so much for the beautiful plants and the great service!
It helps us recommend plants that are best for your local climate, based on your growing zone. Also, because we ship plants based on when they are best for your local climate, it allows us to give you a more accurate estimate of when your order will ship.
